Some of these pictures are the same ones that were recently on display at the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum in Cooperstown, New York.
The Big Unit travels the world taking pictures. This has been his hobby since college, when he studied photojournalism at the University of Southern California.
"There's no greater place than having it at the Baseball Hall of Fame,” said Johnson. “I had it there for seven months and it was my hopes to bring it to the ballpark. It's a much smaller scale of my work now, but I'm happy that something is here, and I'm happy that the fans will have time to go through and see some of my work. Some people don't know that I'm a photographer. A lot do that follow me on social media... The greatest response I got from my photography was in Cooperstown, where people were seeing my work for the first time, seeing work up close like this of Africa, and they said that they were inspired… You know, that's pretty cool.”
12Sports journalist Cameron Cox got an exclusive early access pass to the exhibit. Catch the full interview at the top of this story, on the 12+ app on Roku, Amazon Fire or Apple TV for your TV, or watch D-backs on Deck Friday at 3 p.m. on 12News.
